This Week on the Island 10/11/2015

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
Weather: Beautiful but warm. Lots of sunshine, blue skies, white clouds and temperature in the high 80’s.
This is the time of year when everything is slow here (not many tourist).
So Monday it was over to Bayview Park to watch the re-dedication of the Blue Star Memorial Highway and the addition of the Vietnam Veterans wall.
Also kept an eye out for changes to the city like the replacing of the old brick walkway with wood around the bight.
And replacing some of the old brick walkway with new brick in the same area.
And Saturday the Key West Runners Club had a Half Marathon and a Marathon. A pictures of them running down Caroline Street
The Mustard and Pretzel Company on Lazy Way Lane has closed but Fisherman  is already moving back in.
Columbus Day is Monday. You remember the white man that never set foot in America.
Tourist enjoying South Beach on the Atlantic side of Duval Street on the beautiful October Day.
Key West you have got to love it
