This Week on the Island 02/11/2018

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather: What is the weather supposed to be like next week? Nice
This week I continued to read the book ‘Fallen Hunter’ by Wayne Stinnett.
Teeki and I went for another little Trike ride around town.
This is the entrance to Truman Annex. It used to be military but is now a housing development.
This is the ‘Little White House’ where Truman spend many vacations.
This is the old Weather Station.
This is the old hospital.
This is the exit from Truman Annex leading into the traffic circle that is the start of the new park the city is building on land given to Key West by the Navy.
This is the new entrance to Fort Zackery Taylor Park.
The Sebago Catamaran going out the ships channel at the end of Fort Zack State Park.
Now for other stuff.
This is the sky one day last week over the Dog Park.
This is the Key West Polar Bear Club jumping into the ocean on 4 Feb.
We leave you today with this. Long live the Conch Republic.
