This Week on the Island 03/18/2018

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather: Wonderful. This is a pic looking out over Smather's Beach.
This week I read ’The Heights’ by Al Beard. Al is a friend from many years ago back in South Carolina.
This week we had PI day on March 14 (3.14). If you don’t understand ask the math expert in the family.
I kind of like Key Lime Pie.
We also had the Ides of March (March 15) when Caesar was stabbed in the back in 44 B.C.
We ended the week with Saint Patrick’s Day.
Lucy's Surfer Bar had a Saint Patrick's street party. This is where Finnigan's Wake used to be.
Yes, the college kids are still here. Three weeks now, but who’s counting. This is the week the Florida schools are out, so Key West is packed.
Danti's pool and bar
There are a lot of thing I like about living in the Key’s that will stay in my memory forever.
